WE HEARD WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY
Ram Nation,
We asked for your feedback on our ticket options, and we listened to what you had to say. We're excited to announce changes to our Season Ticket Membership for the 2024-25 Men’s Basketball season.
VCU Athletics will switch to a per-seat model for all season tickets, beginning with the 2024-25 season. The switch will make our games accessible to more fans, which means the atmosphere at The Siegel Center will continue to be the best. Keep reading to learn about the changes, and the impact they will make.
What is changing with the new plan?
Currently, the cost of fans' season tickets is dictated by their Ram Athletic Fund donation level. In this new, per-seat model, your Ram Athletic Fund contribution will be based on the number of seats in each account.
How does a per-seat model work?
The new model will break the seating map into four zones, with the cost of the per-seat contribution varying by location within the arena. Fans can review the new seating chart below.
Each seating zone will require a different per-seat contribution. Prospective season-ticket buyers will owe the price of each seat contribution, in addition to the cost of each season ticket. For example, a fan who wishes to purchase two season tickets in the upper sideline sections next season would owe $1,500 ($750 x 2) for two seat contributions, plus $1,200 (2 x $600) for the cost of two season tickets, for a total of $2,700. That represents a total savings of $900 from the cost of those same two seats for the 2023-24 season.
How does this affect my benefits and parking?
The majority of our members will see a price decrease for their season tickets, but the benefits chart will remain the same. That means your total giving must remain the same in order to continue receiving your current benefits.
For example, if your per-seat contribution equal $6,400, and you want to remain at the $10,000 level, you must pay the difference of $3,600 to access to those benefits.
Your season ticket seat contribution applies toward your giving for benefits. Switching to a per-seat model means a portion of any giving in excess of your per-seat contribution, may be tax deductible to the extent of the law.
Is this a reseat?
Rather than perform a full reseat, we will move to an upgrade process. Fans who wish to keep their current seats may do so. However, by lowering the per-seat cost of season tickets, many fans will have the opportunity to upgrade to better seats for the same price they have been paying.
